Indigenous Protected Areas Programme

Home / Indigenous Protected Areas Programme

Indigenous communities can apply to the Government for support to consult with their community and other stakeholders, on whether an Indigenous Protected Area (IPA) is the right future for their country. Indigenous landowners considering whether to establish an IPA on their land, can also access Government support in relation to the legal, cultural heritage and conservation aspects of their proposed IPA.
